St Michael's Church Heritage Open Day takes place on Saturday 13th September between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Our historic Church has taken part in this national festival of history for many years and we welcomed a good number of people who had the opportunity to have a tour around our Grade II* listed building and grounds.
There is a special World War Two theme to this year's Open Day to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the ending of this dreadful conflict. Further details on how to get involved are shown here www.stmichaelsflixton.org/heritage-open-day-2025
The activities on the day included:
- Parish registers from the 1930s onwards.
- Walk round our ancient church yard.
- Climb the spiral staircase to the ringing room.
- Timeline and children’s quiz
- Old photographs and maps of Flixton
- Various historic displays
- Refreshments available all day
