Great Wines from Ancient Vines

How important is the age of a vine? Now’s your chance to find out in this tasting of eight great wines made using grapes from Vieilles Vignes/Alte Reben/Vigna Vecchie/Viñas Viejas – in other words, Old Vines!

The roots go deep in these gnarled old plants, meaning not only do they have access to more nutrients in the soil than younger vines but they’re also more resistant to extremes of weather, diseases and pests. And while they may not be as productive as they were in their youth, they often produce wines with greater complexity, depth, and intensity.

The line-up will include Malbec from Argentina, Monastrell from Spain, Aglianico from Italy, Chenin Blanc from South Africa and Riesling from Germany. So join us to experience the wonders and wisdom of age in wine form!
