Four Chaplains Service

Hosted by American Legion Post 113, all are invited to attend this Memorial Service for U.S. Army chaplains—Methodist Rev. George Fox, Jewish Rabbi Alexander Goode, Catholic Fr. John Washington, and Dutch Reformed Rev. Clark Poling—who sacrificed their lives on February 3, 1943, when the troop ship USAT Dorchester was torpedoed in WWII, giving their life jackets to soldiers and praying as the ship sank, symbolizing unity and selfless service.
