Why are we so drawn to telling ghost stories? Leanna Renee Hieber, Gothic novelist, actress and NYC Ghost Tour Guide leads a lively discussion about the spirit world's thrall, including a brief history of the Spiritualist movement in America and its importance to women's rights and modern storytelling.

Leanna Renee Hieber graduated from Miami University with a BFA in theatre and a focus in the 19th Century. She has performed in regional theatres around the country starring in Shakespeare, classical theatre, and adapting 19th century literature for the professional stage. A New York City resident, she is a licensed New York City tour guide, a member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA and has been featured in film and television shows like Boardwalk Empire and Mysteries at the Museum.
