On this brilliant, post Malmö Dance Week afternoon we are inviting everyone to come celebrate & gather around Detroit culture, techno and Jit. This FREE/RSVP Community Meet & Greet features a Jit Masters showcase, panel talk – hosted by moderator Helena Lopac, screening of Jit documentary East Side Story by Legendary Jitter Carlos Clark while also providing a unique opportunity to socialize amongst our peers.
The very essence of Cypher Tales Malmö 2025 edition is to highlight Detroit techno, Jit & the local culture that surrounds it. Together, we hope to achieve a deeper understanding of technos multidimensional personality hailing from both a local club & street environment with deep grass root connections between music & dance. By doing so, we believe this project will help bridge cultural & geographical gaps encouraging more people from different walks of life to feel welcome in club music & dance culture.
House and Techno is resistance music originally created by unique, talented & marginalized people.
This is more than just an open call to dancers, DJs, producers, fans, freaks, novices, veterans & beyond – this is a personal invitation to get to know club music culture – past & present.
Cypher Tales Malmö is the organic continuance of The Anxious Beat – a Detroit focused radio & digital archive series via Noods Radio highlighting stories and music from the underground club music scene. CTM was founded by Måna Rezaijoff in 2022 to bridge gaps between people and communities – both culturally and geographically.

Jit Masters was founded by proud native Detroiter, Michael Smith, also known as Jit Master Mike, who has always been destined for the dance floor. From imitating Michael Jackson as a toddler to studying dance at the Detroit High School for the Fine and Performing Arts and business at Wayne State University, dance has been a central part of his life.
Growing up on Detroit’s eastside, Michael found that the Jit dance not only kept him and his friends out of trouble but also shaped his future. After a brief hiatus from dance, he felt a calling to return and share his gift with the world, leading to the creation of Jit Masters.
Jit Masters is all about bringing the unique Detroit Jit dance to a global audience, offering workshops, private lessons, and performances that showcase this vibrant piece of Detroit culture.
In addition to leading Jit Masters, Michael teaches at Motor City Dance Factory and lives in Detroit with his wife, Orma, and their daughters, Hailey and Jasmine. Connect with him and “Get Your Jit On!”
Gr8 Ones based in Malmö also active in Stockholm since 2022, is a non-profit organisation whose goal is to provide nourishment, energy and love to the various stages of culture, where already well-integrated and curious individuals together explore and develop street and club culture.
