About the event

Art of Solidarity II + Finissage Sahar Seyedian
Finissage Wednesday 11.6, 17:00 ~ | Sahar Seyedian - Jasmine Petals | Art of Solidarity ll - Konst för Gaza

You are warmly welcome to join us for the finissage of Sahar Seyedian’s solo exhibition Jasmine Petals, which will include a solidarity programme organised by Konst för Gaza.

Come and take part of poetry readings, performances, a grand lottery game, and more!

This event is a continuation of the programme hosted by Konst för Gaza at Fuxia 2 in 2024, which was a day devoted to a learning exchange process about cultural resistance, in solidarity with Palestine. Konst för Gaza and skēnē now invite you to join Art of Solidarity ll - an event where we focus on fundraising and community. The final programme will be put forward shortly, with the following participants confirmed so far: Iman Mohammed, Johanne Lykke Naderehvandi, Nynne Roberta Pedersen Pedersen, Lasse B. Ondesen, Merima Dizdarević, Puer Parasitus, Melanie Kitti, ABHIVYAKTI, Sahar Seyedian, Ulrikke Bak, Tringa Gashi and Andita Shabanaj.

Konst för Gaza stands in solidarity with Palestine, and with all anti-colonial struggles worldwide. We condemn Israel’s ongoing genocide of the Palestinian population, we condemn Israel’s war crimes and we condemn our government, who blatantly turn their back on genocide. We want to promote an art world that stands up for the human rights of all people.

Finissage, Sahar Seyedian - Jasmine Petals

Jasmine Petals is a new solo exhibition by Sahar Seyedian, presented at skēnē and curated together with visual artist and author Melanie Kitti. Developed specifically for the gallery, the exhibition explores the conditions of art making in times of global crisis, weaving together themes of resistance, longing, and cultural memory.

Through a total installation Jasmine Petals transforms the space into an immersive environment where personal and political histories intersect. The exhibition reflects on the ongoing impacts of colonisation in Southwest Asia, while inviting viewers into a sensory experience of resilience and belonging. Jasmine Petals is at the same time a gesture of remembrance and a call to collective reflection—an offering of beauty forged from struggle.

Sahar Seyedian is an Iranian visual artist living and working in Oslo, where she studied at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Jasmine Petals is Sahar Seyedian’s first exhibition in Malmö.

The exhibition is supported by Kulturrådet, Malmö stad, OCA Norway and Region Skåne.
Location: skēnē, Drottninggatan 6C, Malmö
