Nicholas Flat Trailhead
Decker School Road, Malibu, United States
The Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains needs your help to care for newly planted oak trees at Nicholas Flat in Leo Carrillo State Park.
During this event, volunteers will help the RCDSMM care for previously planted oaks by watering, weeding, and mulching trees as well as potentially planting new acorns to replace those trees that may have died. Volunteers will also collect meaningful data to aid in an ongoing reforestation project the RCDSMM is conducting.
Please wear clothes you are willing to get dirty in as well as durable shoes. Be sure to bring a sun hat, layers and drinking water. Please note, while this is an ADA accessible event, there are no restrooms on site. However our team can direct you to a nearby location.
We will be meeting at the trailhead of Nicholas Flat at Decker School Rd. Carpooling to this event is encouraged as parking is limited!
We look forward to your help in our efforts to reforest the wildlands of the Santa Monica Mountains!
