- **Event Description**: Maidenhead Canoe Club has just been launched and is open to new members. Join us for a taster session to try out a two person canoe or sit-on-top kayak. Most boats are doubles so you will probably share with another person. Bring a friend if you wish (though indicate this below). Canoes, paddles and buoyancy aids are provided.
You will be in a small group with a qualified coach, paddling on calm sheltered water. Beginners are welcome.
There is no clubhouse and no changing facilities so arrive 1845 ready for the water at 1900. We are down the ramp next to Bakedd on our pontoon by the water.
Wear comfortable clothing including sturdy footwear, such as river shoes or trainers.
Taster sessions cost £10 and last one hour. If you join the club after a taster session you can do so at a reduced rate of £15, saving £5 on annual membership (which is currently £20). The club is run by Friends of Maidenhead Waterways, which is a charity.
Club membership will allow you to take part in club paddles on Monday evenings and other events.
Please pay in advance by bank transfer Maidenhead Waterways Restoration Group (our legal name), Account 00015476, Sort Code 40-52-40, at CAF Bank, adding your SURNAME/TASTER for reference. We are a charity so please use gift aid if you can.
