Wildflower Field Day: Military Ridge Prairies and Savannas

For our summer Saturday trips, we will go a bit further afield, taking a full day to visit several high quality natural areas. These trips will include extensive hiking, sometimes off-trail or in steep terrain. Be prepared to be outside most of the day with sun and insect protection, and enough food and water for lunch and snacks! REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED no less than 2 days in advance. We will be carpooling. You may drive yourself if you’d like to attend for only a partial day.
On this trip we’ll visit some of the highest quality remnants and restorations in Southern WI, looking for wildflowers and butterflies of the prairies, wetlands and oak savannas on the slopes of the Military Ridge. Meet at the Verona Rd Home Depot (park in the back of the lot), 7:30am. Returning by 4pm.
