We are proud to welcome Marvin Walker, DHHS 2005 Madison ABC Alum, as our speaker for Madison ABC’s Annual Meeting. Marvin’s life journey is a testament to the power of a vision, persistence and an unwavering commitment to excellence. He credits his mother, Veronica, with instilling in him the rhythms of his Jamaican heritage and the values of hard work and educational achievement. His academic journey began in his neighborhood school in Crown Heights and then Daniel Hand as a Madison ABC scholar. Next, he continued his education at Tufts University and then ended with a graduate degree from Columbia University. His professional milestones, first as a teacher, then instructional coach and school principal reflect his desire to make a meaningful impact on youth, especially in underserved communities. Today Marvin is a member of KIPP NYC’s regional leadership team as the Regional Director for Math where he is helping teachers and leaders implement rigorous math curriculum for over 8,500 students across 19 schools.
