Come join us at MYArts for swing dancing on a beautiful, sprung wood floor. Bring your friends!
After almost exactly 5 years, we're delighted to bring back monthly Friday social dances! Start the weekend off right by taking advantage of sprung hardwood floors, a convenient location (including easy parking), and a schedule more accommodating of those with mid-week obligations.
Anyone is welcome, with a beginner-friendly lesson kicking things off at 7:30. Please remember to bring clean, non-scuffing shoes!
In anticipation of a larger turnout on Fridays, we've booked a larger room, so come dance with someone new to you!
Details:
7:30-8:00pm Beginner Lesson: We’ll show you 6-count swing basics so you can get on the floor and dance right away. No partner or experience required.
8:00–10:30pm: Social dancing.
Dance Venue: Studio 4D
Cost: $10, payable by cash, card or Jumptown Gift Card
Shoes: No street shoes! MYArts has great sprung hardwood floors. We want to enjoy them and keep them in good condition. For that reason, please bring a pair of clean, indoor, non-scuffing shoes! (No street shoes, sneakers, etc.) If people forget to bring a clean pair, we’ll ask them to dance in socks.
Location: MYArts building, studio 4D. (FYI room may change in the future if we have low turnout, and at least once in June.)
Access: Garage parking available; street parking may also be available; 2 blocks from the Route "A" Bus Rapid Transit line; adjacent to the bike boulevard on Mifflin.
