MAGallery is pleased to welcome Helene Roberts to its galleries for a 3D mixed media exhibition titled Beneath the Surface.
The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, August 29th from 6 – 8 PM featuring a Meet & Greet with the artist, sips and bites from Harvest & Honey, and live music by MaCayla Hodges. Beneath the Surface runs through October 3 and is proudly sponsored by DuBose Law Group, LLC.
Helene Roberts was born and raised in The Netherlands and lived in England, Belgium, and several U.S. locations before settling in Madison. After years of professional work as a designer creating interiors, furniture and functional art, she returned to school to study sculpture in Belgium and Italy. The introduction to figurative sculpting was transformative – a love for the human form and condition revealed itself in her ability to look beyond the obvious to capture a subject’s deep and often unseen emotional self. The artist’s statement speaks best in describing Beneath the Surface: “It is my desire to inspire others to look closer and more carefully at their fellow human beings, to truly see them, and to reflect on what affects and challenges all of us emotionally.”
MAGallery is proud to offer Beneath the Surface in support of Madison Artists Guild’s mission to introduce established and emerging artists to the Madison/Morgan County community. In addition to its rotating exhibitions, MAGallery showcases the original works of local and regional artists The gallery is located at 125 W. Jefferson Street, Madison, GA. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 11AM – 5PM.
