The original concept for Stones of the community was birth out of the philanthropic work of 3 individuals who were influential in the establishment of social solidarity, family, and community in west Fresno. The work that we are doing is a part of a legacy to support the mission to give back and uplift those who are in need. This work is in honor of Dorothy Doulphus, Rae Aldridge, and Jesse E. Cooley Jr. who each played a vital role in establishing, nurturing, and cultivation of future leaders in West Fresno and beyond.
These individuals were pillars in the community during their lives and their work continues on posthumously through their children, friends, families, and the partnering organizations who understand the need to continue to pour into and cultivate the “Golden” Westside of Fresno .
