Local author Lynn-Steven Johanson introduces the sixth book in his Joe Erickson mystery series, Reprisal Road, at New Copperfield's Book Service, 120 North Side Square, Macomb, Saturday, September 13, from 10:30 A.M. to Noon and 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Chicago Detective Joe Erickson arrives at an apartment where a young woman, an up-and-coming model, has been found murdered. Discovered at the scene is a box of dead roses, along with a card. A week later, another young woman, also a model, is found murdered in her apartment. A box of dead roses and an identical card are also found at this scene.
Who killed these women? And what is the significance of the dead roses and the card? With no clues as to the identity of the perpetrator, Joe and his partner begin an investigation that leads them to disturbing revelations about what motivated the crimes and who was ultimately responsible for their deaths.
Lynn-Steven Johanson is an award-winning author and playwright whose plays have been produced on four continents. Reprisal Road is the sixth entry in his Joe Erickson mystery series, following Rose’s Thorn, Havana Brown, Corrupted Souls, One of Ours, and Sins Revealed which won the International Impact Book Award for Crime Fiction, August 2025.
Born and raised in Northwest Iowa, he lives in the Macomb area with his wife. They have three adult children.
