Open Mic Nights at the Lantern

Open Mic Nights are back at the Lantern for 2026, starting the first week of February - come down for your fix of local live music every first Friday of the month at 9pm!

Did you know that Open Mic Nights have been running at the Lantern since 2011? Many musicians have made their debut performances here, sometimes their own material and sometimes covering their favourite songs - acts from ages 8 to 80 years old.

We welcome all styles of music, folk to rock to jazz, with some fun pedals thrown in (we even had a psytrance DJ once) - either way you won't find a more appreciative and respectful audience.

We encourage all newbies (and oldies) to share their music with us and keep the Lantern a hub for our fantastic local music scene. Each set is around 3 songs/15 minutes.
