Mystery & History in Downeast Maine

Please join the Machiasport Historical Society on Monday, 25 August, at 6:30 pm at the Gates House for an informative and enjoyable evening with Maine author and Professor of English and Cultural Studies, Marcus LiBrizzi. His presentation will explore mystery and history in Downeast Maine and will highlight the rich history of folklore in this region. Marcus teaches at the University of Maine at Machias and has compiled a collection of ghost stories and lore from throughout Washington County. He has studied folk tales from around the world and claims he has found none more frightening than those set along the Maine coast. Please join us if you dare! The Gates House is at 344 Port Road in Machiasport. Refreshments and light snacks are provided.
