Maccreate, creators of FOREMOTHERS, invite you to the launch event of the exhibition, opening at The Silk Museum.
Foremothers is an exhibition of shrines, made by women from Macclesfield, dedicated to one of their female ancestors. They honour our relationship with our heritage.
Viewers are invited to move between the boxes, experiencing each shrine as a point of reflection for both the makers and the audience.
Maccreate are holding a launch event on Saturday 17th Jan from 2-4 pm and you are invited to join them, to meet the artists and discuss the exhibition. The exhibition continues on Wednesdays to Saturdays, 10.00am - 4.00pm in the Upstairs Gallery.
A short film showcasing the project will be showing on loop, in the gallery, on Sat 17th Jan (3.00 - 3.45), Sat 7th Feb (2.30 - 3.45), and Sat 21st Feb (2.30 - 3.45).
