《蘭桂樓》
「賣出血和肉，將心臟換成鐵石與黃金」
澳門，曾是中國苦力貿易的中心。許多人為生存而失去自由與尊嚴。
為謀生而離鄉的鄭海，遭騙成為“豬仔”被賣到古巴，卻陰差陽錯當上了異地“豬仔館”的負責人。從被賣者變成賣家，這段經歷讓他烙下永不磨滅的傷痕。鄭海幾經波折重返澳門，然而曾經安身的樓房，早已化成一片頹垣敗瓦。
這次，藉由音樂與說書，
說，一個有關“賣豬仔”的故事。
塑，一個隱然消失的身份。

The Old House of Orchid
Where flesh and blood were traded for hearts of iron and gold
Macao served as a key hub for the Chinese coolie trade. Here, countless people surrendered their freedom and dignity merely to survive.
Cheang Hoi, a man leaving home to make a living, was deceived and sold to Cuba as a “piglet” – a trafficked labourer. By a twist of fate, he rose to become the overseer of a barracoon (a piglet house) in this foreign land. This transition from human commodity to merchant of men left him indelible scars. After numerous hardships, he returned to Macao, only to find the house that once sheltered him reduced to ruins.
Tonight, we recount the buried history of the “piglet trade” through music and storytelling, and reclaim the memory of a vanishing identity.

A Sea in the Old House of Orchid
A Sea in the Old House of Orchid is an immersive sound installation drawing from The Old House of Orchid, reimagining selected text through a blend of vocal narration, soundscapes, and spatial design.
Guided by the voice of the performer and enveloped in a dynamic soundscape that contrasts vastness with confinement, each participant embarks on a solitary journey. In darkness and solitude, participants will experience the emotional and physical voyage of Cheang Hoi – the protagonist of The Old House of Orchid – reliving his journey across the seas, grappling with displacement, loss, and survival.
