Artist-in-residency Kosisochukwu Nnebe invites the public to engage with her practice! Join our weekly participant presentation to learn more about her artistic practice and research interests.

Kosisochukwu will deliver a two-part presentation consisting of a performance and lecture. Embracing the process of unmasking as methodology and inspired by Dionne Brand's The Blue Clerk, Nnebe's performance will use the traditional Nigerian process of adire eleko (and her own process of reverse adire) to unveil personal reflections on her artistic practice and the possibilities of resistance through and within the art world.

The lecture that follows will provide an overview of key themes and theories undergirding Nnebe's practice - from anticolonial and Black feminist phenomenolgy to the use of food and language as counter-archives of colonial histories. Nnebe will end by sketching out new directions for her practice that bridge the intersection of art, policy, economics and (post)development.
