Living Springs MTB track working bee, Saturday 23 August, 9:30 am
Hi everyone,
Our MTB trails at Living Springs got hit hard in the big April/May rain event and this past week we had Milty from Graded Earth spend a few days repairing much of it. We then had a team head in on Saturday to do some hand tool tidy up work and we marked out a new section of track that is needed to bypass two significant slips.
So, this Saturday 23 August we wanting a team to create this new section that is mostly under mature kanuka. And we have a few young natives to move somewhere and a bridge to modify.
If you are keen to join us, please let us know by email, text or clicking on going in the Facebook event. That way we can ensure we have sufficient tools there and we know how much morning tea to organise, that will very generously be provided by John and his team at Living Springs.
We will be meeting at the Bamfords Road gate (900 m up Bamfords Rd) and walking in from there, leaving at 9:30am. From the Bamfords Road gate, cross the creek and up the steps, then before the second cattlestop, turn left and walk up the grass 4WD track for a fair way, before jumping over the fence when we get to the worksite. Please avoid walking up the Totara Valley MTB track as all the shaping we have just done up there needs time to dry out before it gets foot traffic on it.
Bring along some water and some gloves - we will have tools and some sustenance.
Thanks,
Rebekah & Craig
