By popular demand, I am opening up the next term to all newcomers, waitlisters and the clown curious. This 10-week course will build a solid foundation in the principles of clown for performance, including presence, the game, listening, trusting vulnerability, following your impulses, connecting with the audience, learning to be funny (maybe), finding 'the thing', discovering your idiocy, and more.
This is a physical, silly, joyful, brave space that seeks to deconstruct the patriarchy within traditional European clown training. It is open to all genders and bodies, sexualities, abilities, and experiences.
For those curious, our flavour of feminism is trans inclusive, queer inclusive, cis men inclusive, all bodies inclusive. Feminism is a freedom struggle that rides alongside all equality fights; come step into what it can feel like to be part of this kaupapa.
Classes will run for 10 weeks from August 6th at the Lyttleton Recreation Centre from 6-8.30pm and cost $100 for the whole term.
(Fees will be required to be paid for the whole term, not just the days you can make it)
