The Lyons Main Street Program is hosting its 6th Annual Garlic Day at the Lyons Farmers’ Market in historic downtown Lyons on Saturday, September 13th, from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The event will feature Garlic flavored dishes and other food options, garlic braiding, fermented garlic along with many varieties. Visitors may be surprised at the many types of garlic for sale with both hardneck and softneck varieties ranging from mild to spicy & hot.
The Lyons Farmers’ market features a wide array of local produce, meat, eggs, bread, jams, honey, baked goods, local coffee, dog treats, body care and crafts. Visitors can stroll the pedestrian-only street where up to 50 vendors set up.
You can find garlic ornaments and tasting at our local Christmas Store, nearby and walking tours of historic Lyons.
History buffs can take a short, self-guided tour to learn about the three generations of the Erie Canal passing through National Historic District-designated downtown Lyons and visit Lyons’ peppermint and history museums.
Parking is available: off Montezuma street, near the Trolly Station; off Route 14, near Hometown Auto Service; and off Water street, behind the Wayne County DMV.
The Lyons Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday through October 26th from 8:00 AM until Noon on Church Street in historic downtown Lyons at Central Park.
