The MBTA, in partnership with the City of Lynn, is advancing the redevelopment of the Lynn Garage at 325 Broad Street. This project is part of a larger plan to support equitable growth, stronger infrastructure, and welcoming community spaces. It aims to turn an underused site into a mixed-use, transit-oriented development that strengthens Lynn’s role as a gateway to the North Shore.
Redevelopment options under consideration include full rehabilitation, partial reconstruction, or full site redevelopment. Bus service and parking for commuters and tenants will remain available throughout the project. We aim to bring in a private development partner early in the process to leverage market expertise, share risk, and maximize public benefits.
By reimagining the garage site, this project will:
Create new opportunities for housing and businesses in downtown Lynn
Improve connections between commuter rail, bus, and ferry service
Support Lynn’s growing arts, culture, and business districts
Deliver long-term community and economic benefits while keeping transit service safe and reliable
