Lyme Regis u3a invites you to Woodmead Halls for a special interview with legendary travel writer Hilary Bradt MBE. Starting at 10:15am there will be refreshments and a chance to mingle with fellow members, and the main talk will begin at 11:00am. Hilary – co-founder of the famous Bradt Travel Guides – will be interviewed by Francis Barter about her thrilling new memoir Taking The Risk. Hilary Bradt is an intrepid globetrotter whose career spans six decades of daring adventures. In Taking The Risk, she recounts her most exciting journeys through South America and Africa, from hitchhiking in the Andes to exploring remote African trails. You’ll hear about her unexpected discoveries (like the ancient Inca trail to Machu Picchu), the surprises and mishaps she’s encountered, and the risks she’s taken to make travel writing history. Hilary’s stories promise to be entertaining and inspiring for anyone who loves adventure and exploration.
