Urban walks: Development and biodiversity of green spaces (ENGL/LU)

In a series of walks across the city, architect and researcher Nathalie Kerschen, curator of the exhibition Living Thresholds: Towards Cohabitation in Architectural Design at LUCA — Luxembourg Center for Architecture and botanist Thierry Helminger, co-curator of the exhibition Sous les pavés, la nature at the Naturmusée will provide insights into the development of Luxembourg City’s urban green spaces of and biodiversity.

Tour 1: Pescatore – Pfaffenthal - Niedergrünewald – Neudorf – LUCA

Nathalie Kerschen is a trained architect, completing her doctoral thesis in 2023 at McGill University (Canada). In her research-creation practice, she works at the intersection between the arts and architecture, combining academic research with artistic expression.

Thierry Helminger is a botanist and contributed since 1993 to the installation of the Kirchberg Arboretum. In 2001, he joined the National museum of natural history in Luxembourg and since 2017 he oversees the botany section, which hosts both living (gardens, arboretum Kirchberg, seed bank) and dead (herbarium) botanical collections.
