Kirtan is a heart-opening practice of singing mantras together, rooted in Bhakti Yoga. Through call-and-response chanting, it invites us to quiet the mind, ground in the present moment, and move beyond the ego.
Kirtan creates a powerful sense of connection—within ourselves, with each other, and with something greater—offering a joyful path to inner stillness and collective unity.
Mantras are sacred sounds, words, or phrases—originating from ancient Indian traditions—repeated to focus the mind, uplift energy, and connect with deeper states of awareness. They carry vibrational power that can calm the nervous system, shift emotional states, and cultivate inner stillness or devotion.
It is part of Bhakti Yoga, the path of devotion—a heartfelt practice of surrender, love, and connection to something greater than ourselves. It invites the practitioner to cultivate a deep relationship with the Divine, the Universe, or Universal Consciousness—whatever name resonates most.
Through practices like mantra, kirtan, prayer, and loving service, Bhakti Yoga offers a way to transcend the ego and experience liberation through devotion, trust, and the opening of the heart.
