𝐋ë𝐭𝐳 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐬 — 𝐀 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬
Luxembourg has celebrated Mikis Theodorakis for over 50 years — a tradition shaped in large part by his biographer 𝐆𝐮𝐲 𝐖𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐫: teacher, writer, journalist, stage director, and devoted friend of Greece. He admired not only Theodorakis’ music, but also his courage, his commitment to peace and freedom, and his deep love for his homeland. Their bond helped shape a unique cultural connection between Luxembourg and Greece.
Now, on the 100th anniversary of Theodorakis’ birth, Lëtz Mikis pays tribute to a composer whose legacy continues to resonate. This concert brings together Greek and Luxembourgish artists, choirs, and institutions in a celebration of his music and the values it carries.
It is becoming one of the most significant cultural events in recent years to highlight the strong and enduring ties between Greece and Luxembourg. A moment of remembrance — and the beginning of a new chapter in a long story of friendship.
I’m honoured to take part as member of the organising team behind this special evening, but also on stage as soloist and choirmaster.
Join us on 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟏 𝐚𝐭 𝟐𝟎:𝟎𝟎 at Tramsschapp. Let’s sing together and carry the story forward!
