Out of the Darkness, suicide prevention walk

For this years AFPS 'Out of the Darkness' suicide prevention walk, we will host a speaker from Southwest Minnesota, WendyMamer.

In this deeply personal talk, Wendy shares her family’s journey through her father’s diagnosis of depression and anxiety, the weight of stigma in a small community, and the heartbreak of losing him to suicide. Through her story, she shines a light on the often-overlooked pain experienced by loved ones, challenges misconceptions about mental illness, and reminds us that what we see on the outside rarely reflects the whole story. Wendy’s message is one of empathy, hope, and the belief that by talking openly, we can create a future where seeking help is met with compassion.
