Florida’s own Tom Petty deserves a proper birthday celebration, and WMNF 88.5 FM is delivering! As the only radio station in the state throwing a full night tribute to our homegrown rock legend, we’re bringing together over a dozen bands for an unforgettable musical journey.
Why This Show Matters
Tom Petty was born and raised right here in Florida, and like WMNF, he started making waves in the late 70s. Both Petty and our station rejected the bland sounds of mainstream radio, instead crafting a unique blend of Byrdsy Folk, Punk, New Wave, Garage rock, and Dylanesque singer/songwriters. It’s a musical kinship that runs deep.
