Join us for a special inspirational night of local paddling films! Sunday June 15th we will screen two films:

My Boundless Backyard - Cole Hayes 20min

This film documents a 5-day solo trip that crosses Nova Scotia from the Northumberland Straight to the Atlantic Ocean by bike and kayak. It also offers a new perspective on what adventure is, inspiring others to take one step from their backyard.

Paddle to the Ocean - Zac Crouse & Kelsey Thompson 60min

On April 23, 2009 Zac Crouse witnessed the death of his best friend during a kayaking accident. After being diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Crouse decided to take action. As a Recreational Therapist he self-prescribed therapy to help deal with his illness, a trip from Ottawa, Ontario to Halifax, Nova Scotia without the assistance of motor vehicles. It was a trip Crouse had planned to do with his friend and decided to pursue by himself after his loss. Paddle to the Ocean is the story of Zac's trip and his recovery from having PTSD.

We're excited that our film makers will be in attendance to answer any audience questions!

5:00-7:00pm - Mama Pita Food Truck will be on site in front of our barn! Come mingle with local ocean lovers and grab some dinner!

7:30pm - Screening starts! Please bring your own chair. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages too.

$12 in advance / $15 at the door. All proceeds from the evening will go to Swany's Challenge, to support free adventure therapy for youth who are struggling with mental health and/or addictions.
