Elementary Science Nature Club
Join us once a month for meetings. Our group is small with around 5-10 elementary students. Each month has a different theme. The group will gather together for a short lesson, craft, and snack. The atmosphere is very relaxed allowing students to make new friends, ask questions, and learn together.

1st Tuesday Of The Month
Dates: 8/5, 9/2, 10/7, 11/4, 12/9, 1/6, 2/3, 3/3 (8 Weeks)
Time:1-2pm EST (we may run over some days til 2:15pm EST)
Locations: Nopone Community Center (Indoor Labs), Don Carter State Park (Outdoor Pavilion/Nature Walks)
Tuition: $280 Total ($35/meeting-supplies included) or $40 per individual class

Upcoming Meeting Information (September 2):

The theme of our meeting will be bees, flowers, and pollination. We will begin with a short lesson on the parts of a flower, and then we will complete a dissection of the flower, pulling apart the parts to identify each section. We will then work on our paint craft-painting a flower sun catcher with wind chimes attached. Then we will discuss the importance of bees and pollination. For our snack we will taste different types of honey and enjoy a honeycomb themed cup (honeycomb dry cereal, yellow/brown M&Ms, pretzel combs, and popcorn). Then we will create a mini bee out of clay. Our last lab will be a group pollination activity where students will bend chenille sticks onto their fingers, and then dip it in cheetos powder as they visit paper flowers.

Students will need to bring the following in their class bag: water bottle, spiral notebook (to draw a flower or bee), pencil, coloring pencils

If the student has anything bee themed, they are welcome to bring it to class. Also, if you have a favorite honey you would like us to try your welcome to bring it.

At Don Carter we will use the outdoor pavilion and at Nopone we will use the arts/craft room with full clear windows to check on your child's lab progress. I do ask that parents stay on the location grounds in case the child needs you or needs to go to the restroom. When possible, family members are encouraged to join us on a nature walk after the class at Don Carter.
