Each year since 2013, Practical Vet Med Seminars has presented several full 17 CE Hr. seminars on various Internal Medicine subjects. Additional numerous on-line 2 CE Hr. trainings are presented, as well as 4 & 8 CE Hr. Hands-On UltraSound trainings.
A full 17 CE Hr. seminar on "Urgent Care" follows this presentation protocol for very good reasons:
Over 70% of the homes in the United States have a pet. Most of these pets are dogs and or cats. This dictates that dog and/or cat pet "emergencies" occur in the hundreds of thousands in the US each day. Unfortunately, these "emergencies" occur when we least expect them putting an extra measure of pressure on the pet owner and the veterinarian and their staff.
No matter the geographical location, or veterinary clinic size, each clinic is almost sure to receive it's fair share of emergencies on a daily basis either during or outside the normal hours of operation. In either case this means time to respond to patient needs is of the essence.
Dr. Blount has created this "Practical Urgent Care" 17 CE Hour seminar subject and presents it to examine the most common emergencies likely to occur from patients, and help Seminar Attendees correctly recognize them and know how to react to them in the quickest and most effective way(s).
These common urgent situations will include but are not limited to:
Cardio Pulminary Resuscitation
the technique of Emergency UltraSound
Seizures
Acute Abdomen
Congestive Heart Failure
Poison Ingestion
the many types of Shock
