The 10-Week Talent Show Prep w/ Jackson Kinsey
Ready to step up your rhythm? Join us for this comprehensive ten-part beginning clogging workshop and immerse yourself in an exciting American folk dance tradition! Jackson Kinsey, an experienced young instructor, will guide you through foundational steps, rhythmic patterns, and essential techniques. This extended session is perfect for beginners and anyone looking for a fun, energetic activity. The exciting highlight of this session is the opportunity to perform! Participants will work toward a group performance at the Sandcastles Talent Show Fundraiser on Friday, April 24th, showcasing the skills learned throughout the workshop. This workshop is open to all individuals—no prior dance experience is required, just bring your enthusiasm!
The ten sessions will take place on Tuesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., beginning February 17th. The specific dates are: February 17, 24, March 3, 10, 17, 24 (there is no class on March 31st), April 7, 14, 21 and a final rehearsal on Thursday, April 23. The performance will take place on Friday, April 24th at the Sandcastles Talent Show Fundraiser. The cost for the entire 10-week workshop is $100 for members and $115 for non-members. Clogging shoes are necessary for participation in this Beginning Clogging class. Since sizing can be tricky and shoes may take a couple of weeks to arrive, we strongly recommend ordering immediately after registration. Jackson highly recommends calling Stevens Clogging (stevensclogging.com) at 1-800-722-8040 to place your order. Their team is excellent at ensuring you get the proper size based on your street shoe measurements. For beginners, Jackson recommends the MR. Stomper, MS. Stomper, or KID Stomper models. Please ensure your order specifies that the shoes must have buck taps installed.
