Leeds' Kibitz are a sonic whirlwind of expansively eclectic influences, incorporating far reaching elements and playfully experimenting with time, texture, mood and dynamic. Their energetic and soulful music takes inspiration from the melodies of traditional Jewish wedding Klezmer music and Eastern European folk tunes, tinged with gypsy jazz improv and driven by infectious Balkan beats. Their music seamlessly blends raucous Romanian and Turkish dance tunes with heart wrenching Ukrainian and Macedonian epics, always keeping the audience spellbound and dancing like there’s no tomorrow.
