Known for their blazing, high energy, high hopes, high lonesome live shows, one of the country’s best loved folk/roots bands The Eastern makes a long awaited return to the welly region this July, in a rare but exciting appearance just a right out of the big city in Petone at the Abandoned Taproom.
Having cracked stages across Wellington, from early days and late nights at the legendary Mighty Mighty and Bodega, to heartfelt fundraisers and table standers at San Fran, as well as support slots with Paul Kelly, Steve Earle, the Old Crow Medicine Show and many more, The band are thrilled to bring their rambling, rowdy and righteous asses’ up from the south island and Homebase of Lyttelton to take on all comers with the good folks at the taproom supplying the pinted happiness and the hooley floor with which to make it happen. Led by Aotearoa Music Awards Folk Artist of the Year Adam MCGRATH the band promises to play like they mean it and as if their lives depend on it, which according to their landlords it does!
Tickets as always will be minimum wage friendly
Available at www.forteastern.net
They will be supported by one of Wellington’s greatest songwriters Rob Joass (Shot band, Hobnail) who will be performing songs from his deep catalog and his new solo record Pencarrow.
