A Peek inside Pencarrow

Walk or cycle to Pencarrow Lighthouse and visit Aotearoa's first lighthouse. Usually closed to the public, we are opening the doors for you to explore inside.

Ever wondered if you have what it takes to be a lighthouse keeper back in 1800's?

Walk or Cycle out to Pencarrow Lighthouse and climb up to Aotearoa's first lighthouse!

Chat with knowledgeable guides about the history, construction and stories behind this unique Poneke landmark while exploring the interior, usually restricted for public access.

Health & Safety:
Please note the walk up to Pencarrow lighthouse is steep and can be muddy.

Ensure adequate footwear is worn. The weather can be changeable, bring along snacks, water and a wind jacket.

Entry is at your own risk.
