We’re unveiling six original compositions that tell the story of labor across Lowell’s long history and incorporate the labor soundscape from different eras. Come and experience this unique celebration of sound, history, and community!
WHAT YOU'LL EXPERIENCE:
At a silent disco, music is transmitted through wireless headphones instead of speakers, creating a shared yet uniquely personal listening experience. You'll get to wander (or dance!) in the park, watch live artists, and participate in hands-on activities while you listen.
2PM:
Hear from the composers about their process in a panel discussion
Participate in family-friendly activities with NPS Park Rangers
3PM:
Silent Disco Listening Experience
Live Art & Dance, Activity Tables
3:45:
Return headphones, Closing Remarks
In the event of inclement weather, the program will be moved to the Boott Cotton Mills Museum Event Center and Exhibits at 115 John Street.
This event is made possible by a generous grant from the Mellon Foundation and offered in partnership with Lowell National Historical Park.
