This is a Catholic Mass celebrated according to the Catholic Divine Worship Missal, promulgated in 2015 by Cardinal Sarah, under Pope Benedict's Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum Coetibus for use in the Ordinariates. Our mass satisfies the Sunday mass obligation for all Catholics.
Please come and consider making this your parish home.
The Congregation is a pastoral provision parish of the Archdiocese of Boston. It began life in 1994 in Brookline and West Roxbury, and more recently was located at Austin Prep in Reading, where its current pastor works as high school chaplain.
Pastoral Provision parishes were the 1980s and 1990s predecessors to Ordinariate parishes. After Pope Benedict established the Ordinariates in 2010, all other pastoral provision parishes either closed or joined the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter.
The Congregation of Saint Athanasius accompanied its original 1994 membership into the Catholic Church but did not join the Ordinariate. With our new pastor, Fr. Patrick Armano, and this exciting move to Lowell, we have new ambitious goals.
Join us and be part of our new vibrant community, and travel with us on our trajectory of growth toward membership in the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter.
