Have you ever wanted to create stunning pottery on the wheel? Now is your chance! Join us for a transformative 3-day pottery wheel throwing class where you'll immerse yourself in the timeless craft of pottery.
What You'll Learn:
Day 1: Basics and Bowls
Learn the fundamentals of centering clay, pulling walls, and shaping basic bowl forms
Day 2: Cylinders and Trimming
Build on your centering
Practice pulling pieces taller into cylinders
Learn how to trim leather hard pieces from your first day.
Day 3: Plates, Handles and Carving
Learn how to make plates
Attach handles to your cylinders from Day 2
Practice carving techniques to add dimension and style to previously made pieces.
What's Included:
Studio Wheel Time: Plenty of hands-on practice with personalized guidance from experienced instructors.
Clay: More than enough to complete all class projects
Glazing and Firing: Once your pieces are dry (about a week) we will complete the 1st fire (bisque) You can then return to the studio and glaze your pieces with our studio glazes at your convenience and then we will complete the 2nd fire for you. Pieces are typically ready for final pick up 2 weeks after the last class.
Free Studio Time: All students have the opportunity to come into the studio and work on pieces outside of class time for free.
