Announcing the South End Second Mile for Exodus Family Ministries, presented by 44 Roofing & Construction, scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 8:45am-noon. This two-mile walk will start at Exodus (2020 Garrs Lane), then continue to the track at Butler Traditional High School, where participants will walk laps before returning to our campus for a fun wrap-up event featuring food trucks, music, and inflatables. Tours of our facility will also be offered. This fundraising event is designed to raise awareness of issues facing those less fortunate in our community (such as hunger, housing insecurities, and lack of basic necessities) and what we are doing to address them.
Registration is $25 per person and includes participation in the event, as well as a special Second Mile T-shirt. (Cost goes up to $35 after July 20, so register early!) Register at

Why is it called the “Second Mile”? The Bible tells us to love our neighbors and help them, even if they don’t return the favor. Matthew 5:41 states “Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.” This passage means that if you only do what is required, you’ll be like everyone else. It is when you go above and beyond what is expected that will you stand out and make a difference.
It is easy to love your neighbor, but the “second mile” requires us to also love our enemies. The “first mile” is doing good to those who do good to you, but the “second mile” encourages you to help those who may have harmed you. The “first mile” is blessing those who bless you; whereas the “second mile” is about praying for those who may have used you. Help us show God’s love here on Earth by going the second mile on August 2nd and EVERY DAY!
Please note:
Kids 11 and under are FREE (no shirt will be provided, though)
If you register by July 20, we will have your t-shirt available at the registration table on Walk Day (August 2) from 8:45am-9:30am.
