The Doswell Special / DCNRHS Trip

Enjoy a springtime journey for a special, rare-mileage Virginia Scenic Railway departing from Louisa, Virginia traveling over approximately fifty miles of the Buckingham Branch Railway (former C&O Railway) between Doswell and Gordonsville through the scenic countryside of Central Virginia. This line last saw regular passenger service with Amtrak’s James Whitcomb Riley, Newport News Section which was discontinued on June 14, 1976. After that, a few Chessie Steam Special excursion trains operated the line in the 1970s. Lunch is included and will be served aboard the train while enroute.
