VOICES OF VOLTERRA Documentary

The Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles—together with Autodesk, the Volterra-Detroit Foundation, Case Technologies, and under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy—is delighted to welcome you for the closing evening of Visions of Volterra.

Over the past weeks, our galleries have traced how drones, photogrammetry and laser-scanning are transforming Volterra’s newly discovered Roman amphitheater, alongside other medieval landmarks and later additions, into precise 3D models that advance research and guide restoration.

The closing night pairs a final viewing of the exhibition with the première of Voices of Volterra, a short documentary by Marcus Aubin that follows the citizens, researchers and technologists working to safeguard the city’s fabric and spirit. After the screening, Tristan Randall, Strategic Projects Executive for Autodesk’s AEC division, will join the director on stage to discuss how digital tools can help protect cultural heritage from the growing challenges of time, climate change and natural disasters, and to share the many voices driving Volterra’s preservation and rebirth.
