This Is Not My Home is a projection-based installation that explores the complexities of diasporic identity through the lens of personal and generational experience. The work follows the artist documenting her aunt as she encounters Armenia for the first time—experiences shaped by different relationships to homeland, memory, and longing. Layered with sound recordings from the artist’s last visit to Syria, alongside videos and imagery of her time in Damascus and Haleb, the installation weaves together different geographies to question where—and what—home truly is. Through immersive visuals and archival material, This Is Not My Home invites viewers into a nuanced meditation on belonging, dislocation, and the fragmented nature of diasporic life.
