Your favorite cousin and coolest auntie is celebrated as the First Lady of A Mic and Dim Lights, Pomona’s longest-running poetry venue. For several years, Tamara hosted annual Ladies’ Poetry Nights at Dim Lights and around So.Cal. Over the last 20 years Tamara’s poetry and spoken word has taken here all over the world From South Central to Soweto. Tamara has been featured in several women’s anthology, hip hop songs , and many collections of poetry. Her poem “Thick Chicks” was featured on Season Five of HBO’s Def Poetry. Currently Tamara is touring international using her voice as a spokenword artist and alto vocalist the “Jimetta Rose & the voices of creation.
