Join us Saturday May 17th for an event reflecting on the life and legacy of Salvadoran poet Roque Dalton, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of his death on May 10th, and what would have been his 90th birthday on May 14th. The event will feature poets Janel Pineda and William Archila reading and responding to Dalton’s work, along with a presentation on his life, followed by a screening of the documentary Roque Dalton, fusilemos la noche (2013). If you’re familiar with his work, or you’ve never heard of Dalton before, this event, as is his poetry, is for everyone.
