About this Event

Learn how to transform negative thoughts into positive ones through arts and crafts, composting principles and community support. The workshop will begin with 30 minutes of sound meditation to promote relaxation and mental clarity. This will be followed by a guided arts and crafts session where you will create a compost worm, symbolizing the process of breaking down negative thoughts and transforming them into positive ones. Using basic building blocks of relaxation, creativity and community, this activity fosters growth, renewal, and a shift toward constructive thinking.

Instructor Veronica Lopez is owner and creator of Let Earth Breathe. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a teaching credential from California State University, Northridge, over 12 years of experience teaching chemistry, and has published research in a peer reviewed scientific journal. From 2014 to 2020, she discovered her naturalistic intelligence by creating and maintaining a school garden. She moved on to train as a sound healer and started “Let Earth Breathe.” She created Let Earth Breathe with the purpose of bringing the experience of a “wellness oasis” to any space. At Let Earth Breathe she works with businesses, educators, farms, wellness centers, retirement homes, and individuals planning social events to create experiences that foster inner peace, creativity and community building. Her services provide Wellness Workshops that prioritize meditation, nature connections, and creative reflection.

Cottonwood Urban Farm is located in Panorama City, Los Angeles, dedicated to the intersection of food, community, and education. Founded in 2012 by LA native and educator Elliott Kuhn, the farm provides a resource for locally grown food and sustainability by reconnecting individuals with the process of agriculture. CUF prioritizes social responsibility and works with several non-profits in the Los Angeles area to facilitate the transformative process of taking food from seed to the table. The farm has evolved over the years from a small vegetable garden to market gardening, educational outreach, community composting site, and a food distribution hub during the pandemic. The farm's success is a testament to the transformative power of local food production and the collaborative efforts of the community. https://www.cufarm.org/
