About the event

Join WeBook at B&N at The Grove to celebrate National Latina Day in LA
Join us on September 6, at 12:30, to celebrate WeBook authors Ana Silvani, Cris Casagrande, and Rafa Brites at B&N at The Grove.

About this Event

Join us on September 6, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., to welcome authors Ana Silvani, Cris Casagrande, and Rafa Brites for an afternoon of celebration of Brazilian books and women who are helping to change the world, making it a better and more poetic place.

Please arrive at 12:15 for the red carpet pictures. After that, we’ll have a 20-minute panel, moderated by journalist Cleide Klock, to introduce the authors and discuss their books, challenges, and the beauty of being able to publish their work in English and Portuguese. A book signing, more photo-op, and refreshments will follow the conversation.

*We recommend reserving your books in advance to guarantee your signed copy (at the WeBook or B&N websites). More copies will be available at the cashier on the day - please get yours before the panel starts.

  • Amor em Sagitário - by Ana Silvani (Portuguese edition)

Amor em Sagitário (Portuguese edition) is a collection blending poetry, poetic prose, and essayistic reflection. With the characteristic honesty of Sagittarians, the author explores love in its many forms — from romantic enchantment to the ache of loss — guiding the reader through an emotional journey of self-discovery, vulnerability, and the longing for belonging. The writing, marked by a stream-of-consciousness style and powerful metaphors, challenges social conventions and delves into human contradictions with courage and sensitivity.

  • Letters to Somebody (I Used to Know) - by Cris Casagrande

It’s a poetry book that explores the words left unsaid—the unspoken emotions, the memories tucked away, and the feelings that linger long after people have come and gone. With honesty and heartfelt introspection, the author invites readers into the complexities of relationships, self-discovery, and the quiet power of writing down what we can’t bring ourselves to voice aloud. Whether it's fear, uncertainty, or the passage of time, this book captures the universal experience of longing, regret, and the need for closure.

  • Impost-her Syndrome - by Rafa Brites

Have you ever felt like you are never good enough? This way of thinking is a common struggle that affects women everywhere. You might be one of us. In this book, I talk about my experiences dealing with this syndrome and its complications. I also give you tips on how to control it instead of letting it control you.

Connect with amazing writers and celebrate the rich diversity of Latina voices in literature. See you there!
