Learn to Backpack Skills Weekend at Black Mountain in Monte Bello Preserve on the Peninsula

Learn the basics of backpacking on this easy guided backpacking trip in the bay area, on the peninsula! It's one night in the woods, with a 3-mile hike in, and 2-mile hike back to the cars. This is a great trip for first-time backpackers. whether your objective is to just try it out, or learn a lot about backpacking. The distances we cover are short, the scenery is great, and the experienced, professional guides of the OAC will be there to assist you if this is your first time sleeping in a tent or under the stars. Get out of the crowded car camping areas and enjoy the peace and beauty of the woods and mountains, all just a short drive from San Jose or San Francisco.
