CLASS: Intro to Double Knitting

Maybe you want to knit a hat that's doubly thick, to protect you from the cold. Maybe you like the idea of bold colorwork designs with lots of open space and intricate pictures. Maybe you want to knit a pocket at the same time you're knitting the sweater. Whatever your motivation, double knitting is a fun and useful technique!

Join us for an introduction to double knitting! We'll discuss theory and technique, and then we'll double-knit a swatch. (If you have a project in mind, bring the yarn and pattern! We'll swatch for that! Otherwise a small swatch chart will be provided.)

Prerequisites: this class is suitable for the intermediate knitter who is comfortable casting on, knitting, purling, and working 1x1 ribbing.

This two-hour, single-session class costs $10 and will be held Saturday, July 19, from 10:30 AM-12:30 PM. Bring at least two colors of scrap yarn and needles appropriate for that yarn; straight needles are preferred but not necessary.
