Joaquin Garde & Julian Chiu

A night of original music with guitarist Joaquin Garde & trumpeter Julian Chiu, spanning from jazz, rock, pop, and folk in one show. The duo been playing across LA together for four years at venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Catalina Jazz Club, The Novo, and The Avalon Theatre. Their compositional and improvisational influences include various artists such as Pat Metheny, Ambrose Akinmusire, Julian Lage, Bon Iver, Brian Blade Fellowship band, and Dijon. Both are recipients of numerous awards from Youngarts, Downbeat SMA, and The Music Center's Spotlight competition.
